MP Ahmed Majeed Al-Sharmani demanded the removal of Ali Al-Alaq, Governor of the Central Bank, and held him responsible for the downfall of the Iraqi dinar.
During an interview with the [publication name], Al-Sharmani stated that changing the governor of the Central Bank was urgently necessary due to the increased burden on citizens.
According to him, the decline of Iraqi dinar against the dollar is caused by the conflict in selling currency on the black market and parallel markets. He also pointed out that the central bank made fundamental errors in their work.
Al-Sharmani emphasized that it is the moral and constitutional responsibility of the House of Representatives to correct the Central Bank’s mistakes.
Muhammad Al-Saadi, a researcher in economic affairs, has expressed his concerns regarding the continuous increase in the exchange rate of the US dollar in the parallel market. He attributed this rise to the presence of numerous speculators and financial mafias who aim to monopolize the markets and exchange companies to gain control over foreign currency.
