The government’s seriousness in recovering all of the money from the so-called theft of the century was confirmed on Thursday by MP Mohammed Al-Baldawi.
“Nour Zuhair or others who were involved in the embezzlement of public funds will be referred to the judiciary, which will be the final arbiter in resolving all cases,” Al-Baldawi stated in an interview.
“There is no leniency with anyone, no matter how involved in corruption the country is,” he continued.
He proceeded, “The public authority doesn’t mess around with recuperating all the cash taken from the 100 years, demonstrating that “the public authority faces a test to carry out its program, which incorporates fighting debasement as a significant point of support in building state organizations.”
“The Iraqi judiciary is fair and just,” he said, “and that investigations are taking their course in tracking down and recovering funds and exposing everyone involved in corruption cases, whether in the theft of the century or otherwise.” He said that the Iraqi judiciary is fair and just.
