Today, Sunday, Independent MP Ahmed Majeed Al-Sharmani urged the Prime Minister to appoint a competent replacement for the Central Bank Governor.
“The Central Bank’s policy failed to contain the dollar crisis against the Iraqi dinar,” Al-Sharmani stated.
According to him, “there is a discrepancy in the levels of currency sales in the black market and the parallel market from the price set by the government and the Central Bank,” “the Central Bank’s policy towards the dollar crisis has not succeeded so far.”
He emphasized that “the need to replace the governor of the Central Bank with a competent person” and that “these positions are assigned to incompetent people under political pressure.”
