State of Law calls for taking deterrent action in the case of Iraqi pilgrims

Sheikh Haider Al-Lami, a member of the State of Law Coalition, criticized the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the treatment of Iraqi pilgrims by Saudi authorities on Thursday.

Al-Lami said in an explanation to , “The Saudi specialists are as yet managing Iraqi travelers uniquely in contrast to different nations, as the issue of keeping a few explorers as of late isn’t new, yet the provocation did by the Saudi specialists is continuous, yet it has not been featured in the media.”

He went on to say, “The Saudi authorities’ recent measures and their treatment of Iraqi pilgrims in this arbitrary manner is unacceptable because they have immunity and their entry into the holy places is legal.”

“There must be firmness and deterrence in the case of the pilgrims, to the point of filing a lawsuit so that these actions are not repeated,” he said. “The role of the embassy and the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs is a weak position.”

The former advisor to the Prime Minister, Abdul Hussein Al-Hanin, stated on Wednesday that the Saudi government had detained 21 Iraqi citizens for a position related to the martyred Hezbollah Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, who was killed in a Zionist bombing that hit a southern suburb.
