More than 160 signatures were collected to release the entitlements of the victims of terrorism.

MP Ahmed Shaheed said on Saturday that more than 160 members of Parliament have signed a memo calling for a formal parliamentary decision to release the financial benefits owed to families of terrorism martyrs. These payments were stopped by the Ministry of Finance, and Shaheed stressed that these rights cannot be delayed or put on hold.

Speaking to dinaropinions.com, Shaheed said MPs agreed that the Ministry of Finance must be required to pay the families of those who gave their lives fighting terrorism. He said holding back these payments is a serious injustice to families who lost their sons defending the country.

Shaheed added that Parliament will keep pressing this issue and follow it closely until the families receive what they are owed. He said paying these benefits is not just a legal matter, but a national and humanitarian duty that cannot be ignored.

Earlier, the head of the parliamentary Rights Bloc, Saud al-Saadi, revealed that more than 100 MPs had already signed a separate request demanding the release of these long-delayed payments.
