Oil prices took a pause on Wednesday after climbing for four straight days. The market cooled as Venezuela started exporting oil again, adding more supply into the system.
At the same time, traders are still watching Iran closely. Ongoing and violent unrest inside the country is raising fears that oil supplies there could be disrupted.
Brent crude slipped slightly, falling 9 cents to $65.38 a barrel. U.S. oil, known as West Texas Intermediate, also edged lower, down 12 cents to $61.03 a barrel.
In short, new supply from Venezuela pushed prices down a bit, while worries about Iran kept bigger losses in check.
