The State Company for Automotive and Equipment Industry, which belongs to Iraq’s Ministry of Industry and Minerals, has signed a new partnership deal with Iraqi and Emirati companies to build a full vehicle manufacturing system inside the country.
The project aims to assemble, produce, and market different types of vehicles locally instead of relying heavily on imports.
The agreement includes the production of:
- Buses
- Light commercial vehicles
- Passenger cars
- Trucks
- Specialized equipment
It will also involve technical cooperation with international automotive companies that specialize in vehicle manufacturing.
According to Director General Eng. Dana Saadallah Saeed, this step is part of a wider national plan to strengthen local industry. The goal is simple: produce more inside Iraq and reduce the need to import vehicles from abroad, following government and ministry instructions.
