In January, here’s what happened.
WFP supported 14,192 people.
A total of USD 304,000 was given through cash-based transfers.
To keep helping people from February to July 2026, WFP will need USD 7.6 million in funding.
General Food Assistance
In Ninewa Governorate, WFP gave e-vouchers to more than 6,780 people (1,842 families) living at Al-Amal Rehabilitation Centre, which was previously known as Jed’ah 1 Centre. These vouchers help families buy the food they need.
WFP also provided multi-purpose cash assistance to nearly 7,412 people (1,555 families) who do not have civil documents. This support reached people in Baghdad, Salah Al-Din, Kirkuk, Ninewa, Diyala, and Babel. For many families, this cash helps cover basic needs like food, rent, and medicine.
WFP is now preparing the final round of monthly cash support for 31,000 Syrian refugees living in nine camps in the Kurdistan Region. Because of funding shortages, this assistance will soon stop. WFP is gradually ending this programme, while continuing to focus on helping the most vulnerable Iraqi families.
