Chainlink has rolled out a new on-chain data service that lets decentralized apps access U.S. stock and ETF prices even when traditional markets are closed.

The new product, called 24/5 U.S. Equities Streams, went live on Jan. 20. It gives on-chain platforms continuous price data during regular trading hours, pre-market, after-hours, and overnight sessions.

This launch expands Chainlink’s Data Streams offering and helps close a long-standing gap between traditional markets, which run on fixed schedules, and blockchains, which operate around the clock.

The service is already live across more than 40 blockchains and covers all major U.S. stocks and exchange-traded funds.

Fixing a long-standing problem for on-chain markets

Until now, most crypto platforms offering stock-related products relied on prices that only updated during normal U.S. market hours. Once markets closed, prices often froze, creating risks for derivatives, lending platforms, and synthetic asset protocols.

Chainlink’s new streams solve that issue by delivering near real-time price updates, even outside standard trading hours. The data includes mid prices, bid and ask levels, trading volume, last trade prices, and clear signals showing whether the market is open, in pre-market, after-hours, or overnight mode.

Each update is cryptographically signed, allowing platforms to verify the data before using it.

This richer data set helps on-chain platforms manage things like liquidations, margin levels, and funding rates more accurately, even when traditional exchanges are offline but prices are still moving.

Early adoption already underway

Several platforms have already integrated the new equity streams. Lighter, currently one of the largest perpetual futures DEXs, is using the data to offer equity perps beyond regular trading hours.

BitMEX has also adopted the streams to support its equity derivatives with better real-time risk management. Other platforms using the data include ApeX, HelloTrade, Decibel, Monaco, Opinion Labs, and Orderly Network.

These integrations support a wide range of use cases, including equity perpetuals, synthetic stocks, prediction markets, and lending products tied to U.S. equities.

The launch builds on Chainlink’s earlier move into real-time equity pricing in August 2025 and reflects growing demand for stock exposure inside decentralized finance.

With U.S. equities representing an estimated $80 trillion market, reliable and always-on pricing has been one of the biggest missing pieces for bringing stocks fully on-chain.

Chainlink said the new equity streams are available immediately, with tools and documentation ready for developers who want to integrate U.S. stock markets into their protocols.
