Imas from Turkey has signed a third deal with Mokhalad Group to build another flour mill in Iraq. This shows their partnership is growing stronger.

This new project adds to two earlier ones, bringing the total to three mills. Each one can process 500 tonnes of wheat per day, which means all three together can handle about 500,000 tonnes a year.

The first mill is already up and running in Tikrit since late 2024. It’s a modern setup with two production lines and full automation—from receiving wheat to packaging flour. Everything is managed through a central system, even allowing remote monitoring.

The second deal was signed in July 2025, and the third followed in August 2025. These new mills are expected to be ready by the end of 2026.

The goal is simple: increase local flour production and supply bakeries and households across Iraq.

A senior official from Imas said the company is focused on building a long-term relationship with Mokhalad Group as it continues expanding.

In short, this is a steady push to strengthen Iraq’s food production and rely more on local manufacturing instead of imports.
