BNB Chain is telling all node operators: update now, or risk falling behind.
The network has made it clear that operators must install the latest version (BSC v1.7.2) before the Osaka/Mendel upgrade goes live on April 28. This isn’t optional—if they don’t update properly, their nodes could stop syncing with the network.
What’s happening?
A major “hard fork” (basically a network upgrade) is coming. It will go live on the mainnet after already being tested successfully.
But there’s a catch:
- Operators need to replace old software correctly
- They must remove outdated settings
- If not, their nodes could break or fall out of sync
What’s changing?
The upgrade brings several improvements:
- Better network stability
- Faster transaction handling
- Lower delays (better finality)
- A fixed gas limit for transactions
One key change is a strict gas cap per transaction. This means all nodes will follow the same rules, making the system more consistent and reliable.
Why it matters
This upgrade shows that BNB’s network is pushing for stronger performance and smoother operation—especially as it grows.
The test version already showed improvements in speed and accuracy. Now, the main network rollout depends on whether operators are ready in time.
Bottom line
If node operators don’t update before April 28, they risk getting disconnected from the network.
So the message is simple: update now, stay synced, and be ready for the upgrade.
