The Oil, Gas, and Natural Resources Committee urged the government to require oil companies to employ 80% of the nation’s workforce today, Saturday.
Board of trustees part Kazem Al-Touki told , “The quantity of unfamiliar specialists in oil organizations is exceptionally huge, particularly in the oil fields.”
“The government to oblige these companies to employ 80% of the Iraqi workforce, in addition to establishing a clear mechanism for this file, to end the issue of the vast area that foreign workers have taken at the expense of the people of the country,” he emphasized.
He explained, “Noting that foreign workers cost Iraq a huge budget, this issue is one of the reasons for widespread unemployment in Iraq.”
