A female employee of Al-Rafidain Bank was sentenced to three years in prison for allegedly harming public funds.

Anbar’s Criminal Court issued a ruling on Sunday, sentencing a woman to three years in prison for deliberately harming public funds.

According to a statement from the Supreme Judicial Council, the woman worked at the Al-Rafidain Bank branch in Khalidiya. The court found that she violated the law by signing and issuing two letters of guarantee to two private companies.

The statement said the sentence was issued under Article 340 of Iraq’s Penal Code No. 111 of 1969.

The court ruled that her actions caused damage to public money, which led to the prison sentence.
