A former MP calls on the government to expedite the submission of the civil servants' salary scale law.

Former MP Yasser Al-Husseini has urged the government to move quickly and send the draft law on employee salary scales to the next parliament. He said this law is not a luxury, but a basic demand for a large number of state employees who have been waiting for fairness for years.

Al-Husseini explained that the delay in submitting the draft has created real worry among workers. Many employees feel stuck, watching time pass while nothing changes. According to him, the new law must focus on job fairness and fix the wide gaps between different job grades, which many see as unfair and unjustified.

He added that once the draft reaches parliament, the next legislative session should take it up immediately. Passing a fair salary scale, he said, would help bring job stability and protect employee rights, especially for those who feel overlooked.

Earlier, MP Ahmed Al-Badri also called on the Cabinet to speed up the proposed amendment and send it to parliament before the current session ends. He stressed that updating the salary scale is a key step toward fairness, particularly for lower-ranking employees who are feeling the most pressure from rising living costs.

For many government workers, this law represents hope for balance, dignity, and long-overdue justice in the workplace.
