A source at the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate said on Saturday that the annual grant for journalists and intellectuals will be paid later this month.
The source, who asked to remain anonymous, said the payment is expected by the end of the month.
He explained that the grant will be distributed based on the same approved lists used last year, with no changes. He also said the Syndicate’s council is staying in close contact with the Ministry of Culture to make sure the process moves forward smoothly and without delay.
The source also denied rumors spreading online about the grant being stopped or withheld this year, stressing that those claims are not true.
For journalists and intellectuals waiting for the payment, the message is clear: the grant is still on track and will be released soon.
