A man was arrested in Kirkuk for counterfeiting over seven billion dinars, according to the police.
A suspect in Kirkuk was arrested for forging seals and signatures of judges and officials in the city’s real estate registration directorate, according to a source on Sunday.
The suspect allegedly forged real estate transactions, using department signatures and seals to sell land, and falsified the amount to seven billion dinars.
After monitoring the suspect and employee for two weeks, both were arrested in a joint operation, and all of their belongings were seized.
A group of six individuals were arrested at Baghdad International Airport in the past 30 weeks for attempting to take $400,000 in counterfeit currency out of the country.
