Coordination Framework member Uday Abdul Hadi says there’s still no progress on choosing a new president.
He explained that Kurdish parties haven’t shown any positive signs about agreeing on a candidate, even though the constitutional deadline passed weeks ago.
Abdul Hadi said the Coordination Framework has sent several messages to Kurdish leaders, asking them to speed things up and agree on one name — but so far, nothing has changed.
He added that next week could be important, with a possible meeting between political groups to create a clear plan to solve the issue.
Right now, everything is stuck. A new government can’t be formed, and the largest bloc can’t nominate a prime minister until the presidency is settled first.
