Airbus says it plans to deliver a record number of commercial aircraft this year, riding strong demand and a big jump in profits.

Speaking from Toulouse, CEO Guillaume Faury said 2025 was a “landmark year” for the company. Demand was strong across all parts of the business, he said, and the numbers show it.

Airbus received 1,000 aircraft orders in 2025. After cancellations, net orders stood at 889. The company delivered 793 commercial planes during the year.

Profit also climbed sharply. Net income rose 23% to 5.2 billion euros (about $6.1 billion).

Looking ahead, Airbus is aiming to deliver around 870 commercial aircraft this year — which would mark a new record.

However, the company added a note of caution. Its 2026 outlook assumes there will be no new disruptions to global trade, the world economy, air traffic, supply chains, or its own operations.

Like its US rival Boeing, Airbus has struggled to fully return to pre-pandemic production levels. Supply chains were heavily disrupted during COVID-19, and rebuilding them has taken time.

At the same time, airlines are eager to upgrade their fleets with more fuel-efficient planes and prepare for long-term growth in passenger travel. That strong demand is now giving Airbus the confidence to push for a record year.
