Ali Al-Fatlawi, a member of the Al-Fatah Alliance, stated, “There are attempts to create a public opinion away from Islamic law and create popular rejection of the proposed amendment to the Personal Status Law.”
“There is a systematic process that aims to create a public opinion against the proposed law, and to drag society towards popular rejection of this proposal with the purpose of thwarting the passage of the amendment within the House of Representatives,” Al-Fatlawi stated.
He made sense of that “there is an endeavor to oust Islamic regulation by a few lawful specialists who have strayed from the Islamic text.”
“The amendment has a lot of connection to Sharia, in addition to the emergence of many personal opinions that have begun to appear in public, as these opinions were not based on knowledge of religious jurisprudence and its teachings,” he went on to say.
