MP Calls for Urgent Salary Scale Law to Ensure Fairness for Employees
MP Rafiq al-Salihi said on Saturday that the government and the incoming parliament must act quickly to pass a salary scale law, calling it a crucial step toward fairness for state employees.
Al-Salihi told the Information Agency that the law would address major differences in pay between employees across ministries and government institutions.
He added that the next parliament has a key responsibility to pass the law in a way that reflects social justice and meets the needs of the current stage.
The MP also stressed that the government should submit a full draft salary scale that considers the country’s economic situation. He noted that passing the law would build trust between employees and the state and end current disparities in salaries and allowances.
