An agreement has been announced by the Prime Minister's Office between Iraq and Iran

Today, Tuesday, the Prime Minister’s Office announced that the Republic of Iraq and the Islamic Republic of Iran have signed an agreement in Baghdad. Under this agreement, Iranian gas that powers electric power production stations can be exchanged for Iraqi crude oil and black oil.
The Director of the Office of the Prime Minister, Mr. Ihsan Yassin Al-Awadi, signed the agreement on the Iraqi side. On the Iranian side, it was signed by the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Baghdad, Mr. Muhammad Kazem Al Sadeq.
After several days of negotiations involving delegations and technical committees from both sides, an agreement was finally reached.
This agreement is part of the government’s efforts to tackle the gas supply crisis for power stations. The aim is to avoid financing issues and complications arising from US sanctions that have hindered the payment of import requirements.
