Apart from the governorates, the parliamentary services demand the adoption of a special law for the capital, Baghdad

Mahdia Al-Lami, a member of the Parliamentary Services Committee, urged the government and House of Representatives to pass a separate law for Baghdad, the capital, today, Thursday.

“The capital Baghdad is different from the rest of the governorates because its services are divided into two axes, the first is the axis of the Baghdad Municipality and the center and its surroundings, in addition to the existence of areas that are not included or counted either by the governorate or by the Baghdad Municipality to provide services to them, and which are considered disaster-stricken,” Al-Lami said in a statement to. “The capital Baghdad is different from the

Al-Lami added, “Article 124, third, of the Constitution, connected with the capital, Baghdad, referenced the association of an exceptional regulation for the capital, yet it was not proposed as a draft regulation.”

She brought up that the help board will compel the concerned specialists to propose sorting out an extraordinary draft regulation for the capital, Baghdad, and totally cutting off its association with the Baghdad Governorate regarding administrations and regulatory turn of events.
