Cabinet Approves Electricity Prices for Silver Crescent

At its latest gathering this week, the Iraqi Bureau has supported the buy costs for power purchased from Silver Sickle:

Gas energy purchase tariff: $24.94 per megawatt hour
Energy buy duty on weighty fuel: $32.37 each megawatt hour (MWh);
Tariff for purchasing combined cycle energy: $36.81 per megawatt hour (MWh) for a contract with a 20-year term.

A payment guarantee for the Ministry of Electricity’s energy purchase fees was issued by the Ministry of Finance for the energy purchase contract’s 20-year term by the competent committee.

Silver Crescent is an Iraqi business with headquarters in Baghdad, according to its website (Ministry of Trade License #M SH A- 2 14182). It adds:

“On January 4, 2023, the Al-Muthana Investment Commission issued Silver Crescent with investment license number 460 to develop the Al-Samawah Economic, Industrial, and Commercial Services Axis.

“At the moment, the project is being built on 5,000,000 M2 of land 20 kilometers south of Samawa City Center. The land is strategically situated close to the National Electric Grid and the Strategic Gas Pipeline. The first phase will include the construction of a 250 MW power plant that will supply electricity to 250,000 homes in Samawa. This plant will cover half of the city’s current power shortage.
