Today, Sunday, the workers of the Center Oil Organization coordinated a dissent stand in issue with the Bureau’s choice, fighting their exchange from self-funding to focal supporting.

Hayan Abdul-Ghani, the Minister of Oil and Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs, confirmed that Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani instructed the Cabinet to reconsider the decision and not to alter the salaries of oil company employees.

Abdul-Ghani said in a statement that Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani instructed the formation of a committee to study and review all financial and legal observations of Cabinet Resolution No. in order for the government and the Ministry of Oil to support workers in the oil sector. 24600 of 2024, in which it is stated that “it should be corrected in a way that ensures the preservation and non-touching of salaries, incentives, and profits of employees in oil companies and formations.”

The Minister of Oil emphasized that “this issue is receiving attention and follow-up from the leadership of the oil sector, which confirms its keenness to support the rights, duties, and interests of workers in oil companies and formations, in a way that guarantees a free and dignified life,” noting that “this came based on the observations of the Ministry of Oil under its letters numbered (W/644 on 8/21/2024) and (W/666 on 8/28/2024).”
