Chinese Firm signs Contract for Integrated Energy Project

Iraq’s Ministry of Oil has signed a primary agreement for the South Basra included assignment with a consortium comprising China’s Geo-Jade Petroleum and Iraq’s Crescent Basra (Hilal Al-Basra).

The settlement, signed on Wednesday marks the Ministry’s first adoption of a fully incorporated mission model.

Oil Minister Hayan Abdul Ghani defined the deal as a strategic jump in developing Iraq’s oil wealth and supporting the country wide economy. The assignment consists of:

growing production at Al-Tubba [Tuba] subject from 20,000 to a hundred,000 barrels per day (bpd).
constructing a excessive-specification refinery with a ability of 200,000 bpd.
organising a petrochemical plant with an annual potential of 620,000 tonnes.
building a fertilizer plant producing 520,000 tonnes yearly.
growing a thermal power plant generating 650 megawatts.
building a 400-megawatt sun electricity station.


Surplus strength from the project could be fed into the country wide grid, contributing to Iraq’s strength blend and infrastructure enhancement.

The Minister emphasised the task’s role in monetary diversification and process introduction for hundreds of Iraqi workers.
