Coinbase Developing Prediction Markets Platform Through Kalshi, Leaked Screenshots Reveal
Leaked screenshots shared Tuesday by tech researcher Jane Manchun Wong suggest that Coinbase is building a regulated prediction markets platform using Kalshi’s infrastructure. The images, which circulated widely on social media, appear to show early development of a dedicated Coinbase prediction markets website.
What the Leaks Show
According to the screenshots, Coinbase is preparing:
- Coinbase-branded prediction market pages
- A full onboarding guide
- A help center and FAQ section
- Market categories including economics, sports, science, politics, and technology
One screenshot indicates that the product would be offered by Coinbase Financial Markets, the company’s derivatives arm, operating “through Kalshi.” This wording strongly suggests that Coinbase will leverage Kalshi’s existing regulatory approvals to offer event contracts to users.
Several images also show a trading interface that appears to support both USDC and U.S. dollars, hinting at a dual-currency mechanism similar to Kalshi’s current platform.
Coinbase’s Long-Term Interest in Prediction Markets
Coinbase has repeatedly hinted that prediction markets play a role in its vision to evolve into an “everything exchange.”
On November 13, Coinbase and Kalshi jointly announced a collaboration enabling Coinbase to serve as a custodian for Kalshi’s USDC-based event contracts. The leaked material suggests that the partnership may be deeper—and more product-focused—than previously disclosed.
Prediction markets have surged in popularity across 2024 and 2025, with platforms like Kalshi and Polymarket reporting record user activity driven by major global political, economic, and cultural events.
Industry Momentum: Gemini and Crypto.com Join the Race
Coinbase isn’t alone in targeting this fast-growing sector:
- Crypto.com recently launched its own prediction market product in partnership with Trump Media.
- Gemini announced plans for a similar platform and has applied to become a designated contract market with the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) in order to offer regulated event contracts.
The expansion signals a broader industry shift toward regulated event-based trading, similar to traditional futures markets but focused on real-world outcomes.
Coinbase Business Launches in Singapore
In a separate announcement, Coinbase revealed the launch of Coinbase Business in Singapore—its first international rollout of a business-focused financial platform.
The platform provides:
- Instant USDC payments
- Global transactions and transfers
- Automated accounting integrations
- Digital asset management tools for startups and SMBs
Built alongside the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) through the BLOOM Initiative, the service connects crypto payments to real-time SGD banking rails via Standard Chartered.
Coinbase says the goal is to support Singapore’s fast-growing innovation economy with a compliant platform that merges fiat infrastructure and digital assets under a single regulatory framework.
