Dogecoin is moving closer to real-world payments, with House of Doge confirming plans to launch a dedicated DOGE payments app aimed at everyday users and small businesses.
In a press release dated Jan. 20, House of Doge—the official corporate arm of the Dogecoin Foundation—announced that it is developing a mobile payments application called Such, with a planned launch in the first half of 2026.
A payments app built for everyday Dogecoin use
The Such app is designed as a self-custodial Dogecoin wallet combined with simple peer-to-peer and merchant payment tools. According to House of Doge, users will be able to create a wallet, purchase DOGE, and send payments directly within the app, without relying on third-party services.
A core feature of the platform is “Hustles,” which allows small businesses, freelancers, and independent vendors to accept Dogecoin payments. Through Hustles, local service providers, artists, and contractors can list their services, connect directly with customers, and receive DOGE as payment.
Timothy Stebbing, chief technology officer at House of Doge and a director of the Dogecoin Foundation, said the app is intended to make Dogecoin acceptance easy for side businesses and independent workers. He noted that many community members already earn DOGE informally, and Such is designed to streamline and legitimize that process.
Development timeline and ecosystem context
Development of the Such app began in March 2025 and is being led by a 20-person team based in Melbourne, Australia. The application is built on open-source Dogecoin Foundation technology, with House of Doge adding layers focused on usability, payments, and merchant support.
At launch, the app is expected to include:
- A self-custodial DOGE wallet
- A real-time transaction feed showing Dogecoin activity
- Merchant tools for listing services and accepting payments
House of Doge said additional features will be introduced after launch, though specifics have not yet been disclosed.
Expanding Dogecoin’s real-world utility
The announcement aligns with broader efforts to expand Dogecoin’s use beyond online tipping and speculation. In recent months, the Dogecoin Foundation has highlighted new payment integrations, infrastructure tools such as GigaWallet, and partnerships aimed at increasing DOGE adoption in real-world commerce.
House of Doge has also entered international partnerships focused on Dogecoin-based infrastructure and regulatory compliance.
With the upcoming launch of Such, House of Doge is positioning Dogecoin for more consistent everyday use, testing whether its long-standing community support can translate into sustainable real-world payments.
