Due to a problem with fuel (gas) supplies, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy announced that some residential, industrial, and agricultural areas would lose access to electricity.
In Kuwait, “programmed outages” are power outages that are used to reduce the load on the grid. These outages cut power to some areas between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m., when air conditioners are used a lot and there is a lot of use.
This year, for the first time in many years, the Ministry of Electricity had to use scheduled outages because of the growing population, the expansion of cities, the high temperatures, and the delayed maintenance of some power stations.
