An informed source revealed that a major decision is expected soon to suspend several officials in the Ministry of Finance and Al-Rafidain Bank. This move comes after huge amounts of money—around 2.5 trillion dinars—were reportedly withdrawn from the Social Welfare Fund.
The source explained in a press statement that the Integrity Commission and the judiciary have already started looking into the case and are taking it very seriously.
He added that investigation teams from both sides will carry out field visits to the Ministries of Labor and Finance, as well as Al-Rafidain Bank. These visits are part of the ongoing effort to uncover exactly what happened, who approved the withdrawals, and where the money went.
