Former MP Hassan Fad’am says the coordination framework has already laid down clear rules for choosing the next prime minister — and the goal is to make sure the position is not used for personal or party gain.
Speaking to dinaropinions.com, Fad’am explained that the framework has set specific conditions that any future prime minister must follow. These rules are meant to stop the prime minister from competing with the framework itself or using the office to promote his party or prepare for elections.
He said the next prime minister will not be chosen in isolation. Several factors will shape the decision, especially the need to keep balance among Iraq’s political forces. At the same time, external considerations will also play a role.
Fad’am pointed out that outside influence, particularly from the United States, is part of the process. He said these external players are mainly focused on protecting their own interests, which means the next prime minister will have to take international balances into account as well.
