Former member of the parliamentary legal committee, Muhammad al-Khafaji, says Iraq urgently needs to pass important laws that truly serve the country and its people. He stressed that the next parliament carries a major responsibility to get this done.
Al-Khafaji told dinaropinions.com that the coming phase requires a complete and effective legislative system — one that can solve current problems, protect the public interest, and focus on passing laws that Iraq has been waiting for.
He explained that the next parliament must work on laws that are practical, realistic, and aligned with the country’s needs, because strong legislation helps rebuild citizens’ trust in state institutions and supports both political and economic reforms.
Al-Khafaji added that lawmakers must closely follow this file to make sure any new laws match the constitution and actually reflect what society needs. Passing sound legislation, he said, is essential for building a stable, strong state.
