The six-inch fuel oil pipeline that connects the “June 1” depot to the Kirkuk Cement Plant in Lilan, southeast of Kirkuk, has been repaired by the Iraqi Oil Pipelines Company.
The pipeline, which has not been used for more than three years, is now fully operational, as stated in a statement issued by the Ministry of Oil.
According to Ali Abdul Kareem Al-Moussawi, General Manager of the Oil Pipelines Company, the technical and engineering teams completed the pipeline’s maintenance and rehabilitation, allowing it to transport fuel oil at a rate of 22 cubic meters per hour to the Kirkuk Cement Plant. This pipeline will guarantee a consistent supply of fuel oil from the depot on June 1 to the plant, which will increase the plant’s productivity and guarantee a steady supply of cement to Kirkuk and other provinces.
Repairing damaged sections along the pipeline’s path, maintaining pumping and receiving systems, and calibrating meters were all part of the maintenance work. In accordance with directives from the Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs, the Minister of Oil, as well as the Undersecretary for Distribution Affairs, Al-Moussawi emphasized the company’s commitment to developing pipeline networks, improving pumping and receiving mechanisms, and expanding storage capacities in order to secure fuel for vital facilities and power generation stations.
