The Iraqi Drilling Company (IDC) has successfully completed drilling a new oil well in the Zubair oil field in Basra.
Well, the well named Zubair or 607, was drilled to a depth of 3,533 meters in a time span of 36 days.
This achievement is part of a contract with ENI to drill 37 oil wells at Al-Zubair oil field in Basra, in collaboration with Schlumberger.
The Zubair/607 well marks the 24th well that the company has completed in this project. The drilling operations were carried out using the IDC-37 drilling rig, which boasts a horsepower capacity of 1,500. Once the drilling is completed, the rig will be moved to the same field to start drilling the Zubair/600 oil well.
The Iraqi Drilling Company has allocated two modern drilling rigs, IDC-37 and IDC-38, for this project.
