In two files... Washington continues to pressure to prevent Iraqi cooperation with China

Hussein Ali Al-Karaawi, the head of the organizing body of the Belt and Road popular movement, accused the United States of pressuring Iraq to prevent it from improving relations with other major countries. This accusation was made on Monday.

In an interview, Al-Karaawi stated that the United States of America is obstructing Iraq’s participation in the Silk Road and hindering their economic and military cooperation with China, Germany in the electricity sector, and Russia in the field of arming the army. Al-Karaawi further added that this is an act of control and arrogance by the USA.

He said, “The United States of America is pressing to prevent Iraq from joining the Belt and Road Economic Initiative or from arming Iraq militarily.”

Al-Karaawi emphasized that the Iraqi parliament should take a stand regarding the pressure imposed by the United States.

He stated that “the primary goal of Washington’s presence in Iraq is to besiege it economically and militarily for the sake of the national security of the Zionist entity.”
