The Federal Integrity Commission said on Wednesday that it found manipulation and forgery in several pension files inside the Victims of Terrorism Department at the Anbar Pension Directorate.
In a statement, the commission explained that a special team from the Anbar Investigation Office visited the pension directorate and seized several altered pension files. Investigators also discovered that some files had already been recorded earlier at the office.
Another team was sent to the Diwani Order Committee, where officials found that two files had not been registered at all.
The commission also said that an investigative committee from the Investigations Department reviewed the case and concluded that five employees were responsible for the violations.
Investigations are still ongoing. The operation was carried out under a court order from the investigative judge who handles integrity cases in Anbar. Authorities say the goal is to take legal action against those involved and determine how much public money may have been lost.
