The Central Bank of Iran announced on Sunday that it has started distributing new 500,000 toman banknotes across the country.
In a statement, the central bank said the rollout began on February 12, with the new notes now being released through the banking network nationwide. The banknotes had already been printed and are now officially entering circulation.
The move is part of the bank’s ongoing efforts to update the cash in circulation and meet daily transaction needs.
