Iraq’s South Gas Organization uncovered on Monday that it will sign an agreement soon to set up a stage for gas imports at the Al-Faw Great Port in southern Iraq.
The organization’s specialized colleague, Majid Al-Shawaf, said in a proclamation that the step means to broaden supply sources, taking note of that the stage can be utilized to trade overflow gas, the Iraqi News Organization (INA) revealed.
In order to begin building the platform, the South Gas Company is currently writing a contract with one of the businesses.
The task will incorporate special stockpiling tanks and a transmission pipeline with a limit of 1,000 million cubic feet across a distance of as much as 100 kilometers, as indicated by Al-Shawaf.
In January, Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammad Shia Al-Sudani approved the Al-Faw Grand Port’s construction of a fixed platform for gas imports.
The gas stage will be the first of its sort in the nation’s oil and gas industry and its supporting foundation. It will supply a consistent supply of gas from a variety of sources and fill the void left by the operation of power plants.
The project is part of the government’s plan to get rid of gas imports, reduce dependence on gas from Iraqi fields, and solve problems with gas supply.
