The Central Bank of Iraq said the amount of currency in circulation fell by 5.5 percent in the third quarter of 2025 compared with the same period last year.
According to the bank, total issued currency dropped to 99,681 billion Iraqi dinars, down from 104,127 billion dinars in the third quarter of 2024.
The CBI explained that reducing the amount of cash in circulation helps ease inflation pressures and supports overall price stability in the economy.
