This summit is for the entire Arab region and will be held next month in Iraq. Let us hope they keep the promises that they made. They need to get busy in the next few weeks if they are to have a new rate.

As part of its initiative to broaden electronic payment systems, the Central Bank of Iraq unveiled a new feature in the first quarter of 2025 that permits direct transactions between debit cards. According to the bank, people can now move money across debit cards up to a single transfer limit of 400,000 dinars, or the equivalent in US dollars. Up to 2 million dinars can be sent each month. This step is in line with the CBI’s overarching plan to encourage digital transactions and modernize financial services throughout Iraq.
