Baghdad (dinaropinions.com) – On Thursday, the Iraqi Ministry of Oil said that the country exported more than 99 million barrels of oil in September.
A statement released by the Iraqi Oil Ministry stated that the total exports of crude oil during the month of September reached 99,311,107 barrels, as stated in the final statistics provided by the State Organization for Marketing of Oil (SOMO).
According to SOMO’s data, Iraq exported 99,004,320 barrels of crude oil from its oil fields in central and southern Iraq, while Jordan exported 306,787 barrels.
In August, the Iraqi Ministry of Oil disclosed that the country’s crude oil exports exceeded 600 million barrels in the first half of 2024.
In the first six months of the year, Iraq exported 618,044,445 barrels of oil, with an average export of 103,007,407 barrels per month and a daily estimate of 3,433,000 barrels.
Comparatively, this is up 3.77 percent from the same time period in 2023.
Iraq sends about 65% of its crude oil through ports on the Arabian Gulf to Asian markets like China and India, the remaining 20% to Europe, and the remaining 15% to the United States.
