ISX trades over $50M in December

Trading activity on the Iraq Stock Exchange (ISX) picked up strongly in December 2025, with more than 60 billion shares traded during the month. The total value of those trades passed 78 billion Iraqi dinars, or about $53 million.

Exchange data shows that trading took place over 20 sessions, with shares from 79 companies traded out of 104 listed firms.

In total, 63.67 billion shares changed hands, worth 78.7 billion dinars, through 18,173 buy and sell contracts.

The market also ended the month on a positive note. The ISX60 index closed at 983.31 points, up 2.92% compared to the previous month.

The Iraq Stock Exchange operates five days a week, from Sunday through Thursday, and includes companies from a wide range of sectors—banking, telecom, industry, agriculture, insurance, financial investment, tourism, and hospitality.

Overall, December showed steady trading activity and a modest market gain, pointing to improving investor confidence toward the end of the year.
