Jordan discusses deal renewal to import oil from Iraq

The Jordanian Clergyman of Energy and Mineral Assets, Saleh Kharabsheh, uncovered that Jordan is consulting with Iraq about reestablishing a consent to import unrefined petroleum.

Kharabsheh made sense of that the step is predictable with the principal Update of Understanding endorsed among Jordan and Iraq in May 2023, as per The Jordan Times.

The Jordanian priest explained that Jordan imported roughly 5,000,000 barrels of oil from a storage space in the northern Iraqi governorate of Kirkuk between May 4 and July 30, 2023.

As per Kharabsheh, Jordan imports unrefined petroleum from Iraq and cycles it at the Jordan Oil Treatment facility Organization (JPRC).

Iraq’s raw petroleum products to adjoining Jordan address just seven percent of Jordan’s raw petroleum needs.

The Iraqi government approved an expansion in day to day unrefined petroleum shipments to Jordan, lifting the breaking point from 10,000 to 15,000 barrels beginning in August 2023.

Following the approval of the Iraqi government, Iraq’s month to month raw petroleum products to Jordan bounced from 300,000 barrels to roughly 450,000 barrels, addressing 10% of Jordan’s prerequisites.
