Judicial Council directs judges to implement amnesty law “in a manner that achieves its basic purpose”

nowadays, Thursday, the excellent Judicial Council directed judges in Iraqi courts to put in force the general amnesty law “in a manner that achieves its basic cause and does no longer violate the provisions of the law.”

The Council said in a assertion that “the excellent Judicial Council held its 5th session this morning, Thursday, February 20, 2025, headed through the President of the Federal court docket of Cassation, decide Faeq Zidane. The Council discussed law No. (2) of 2025 (the second modification regulation to the overall Amnesty regulation No. (27) of 2016) and the hypotheses dealing with the work of the committees implementing the aforementioned law.”

He added, “The Council decided to direct judges to enforce the amnesty law in a manner that achieves its basic motive without violating the provisions of the regulation.”
