Major Section Completed at Iraqi Megaport - Key Data

The five-berth construction project at Al-Faw Grand Port’s container terminal has been completed, according to the Iraqi Ministry of Transport.

Dr. Farhan Al-Fartousi, Director General of the General Company for Iraqi Ports, claims that all project phases have been successfully completed in accordance with Transport Minister Razzaq Muhibis Al-Saadawi’s instructions:

Information about the project:
The container terminal is a component of the Al-Faw Grand Port development that includes the project.
Pier Area: 167,000 hectares
Depth: The pier’s frontage was excavated to a depth of 22.6 meters.
Volume of Excavation: Soil measuring 2,600,000 cubic meters.
Quantity of Piles: There were 1,736 completed pipe piles.
Use of Rocks: 1,500,000 tons of various sizes of rocks were used.
Material Employed:
Subbase, gravel, and sand: two million cubic meters.
Precast Materials: 6,050 pieces, each with a different purpose and shape.
Volume in Concrete: 130 thousand cubic meters
Additional Buildings:
Bridges: 880 bridges that connect.
Paving with asphalt: Used 12,600 tons of asphalt.
Fenders: 117 fenders were finished.
Points of Mooring: 144 locations where ships can moor.
Completion: The five piers have completely connected the area.
Overall Task:
One of five major Al-Faw Grand Port projects.
