The Central Bank of Iraq sold over $40 billion in hard currency in 2023.
The correspondent reports that in 2023, the Central Bank sold a total of 40,925,383,937 US dollars during the days when it opened its auction to buy and sell the currency. The average monthly rate of sale was 3,410,486,000 US dollars.
According to our correspondent, the highest sales were recorded in May, totaling $5,320,132,000, whereas the lowest sales were recorded in January, totaling $2,026,926,000.
These sales were divided between funds transferred abroad for financing foreign trade and cash sales to banks.
The selling price of documentary credits and international settlements for electronic cards reached 1,305 dinars per dollar, while the selling price of transfer amounts abroad and the cash selling price reached 1,310 dinars per dollar.
