In Iraq’s Zubair oil field, the Iraqi Drilling Company (IDC) has successfully completed drilling a new oil well, Zubair/563, to a depth of 3538 meters.
As part of a contract with the Italian company ENI, a total of 37 oil wells are being drilled in the Zubair oil field in Basra. This project is being carried out in partnership with oilfield services company Schlumberger. The latest well to be drilled under this project is Zubair/563, which is the twenty-third well. The drilling is being done with the IDC 38 drilling rig, which has a capacity of 1500 horsepower.
The drilling rig, IDC 38, will be moved to a different location within the same oil field to begin drilling the Zubair/608 oil well. The company has assigned two modern drilling rigs, IDC 37 and IDC 38, to carry out this project. Both drilling rigs are owned by the company.
