Nouri calls on the next government to take control of the dollar issue.

Former member of the parliamentary finance committee, Mohammed Nouri, has urged Iraq’s next government to take firm control of the U.S. dollar issue, which he says has drained the national economy in recent years due to unstable financial policies.

Speaking to dinaropinions.com, Nouri said the dollar crisis remains one of the biggest challenges facing Iraq’s economy, as it has driven up prices and weakened citizens’ purchasing power.

“The next government must introduce radical solutions to stabilize the market and prevent speculation,” Nouri stressed.

He also called on the new parliament to make this issue a top priority by passing laws that strengthen monetary policy and ensure a stable exchange rate to protect the country’s economy.

Nouri warned that if the current instability surrounding the dollar continues, Iraq could face deeper economic and social crises.

Economists have echoed similar concerns, urging stronger coordination between the Central Bank of Iraq and government institutions to restore confidence in the dinar and maintain price stability across local markets.
