Oil Firms in Iraqi Kurdistan would Sell Crude via Baghdad

According to a statement made by an industry group that represents international oil companies (IOCs) in Iraqi Kurdistan, its members would be willing to enter into direct sales agreements with the State Oil Marketing Organization (SOMO), which is run by the Ministry of Oil in Baghdad.

On X, the following was stated in a statement released on Friday by the Association of the Petroleum Industry of Kurdistan (APIKUR):

“APIKUR part organizations concur with the assertion made by KRG in their new Committee of Pastors meeting that immediate deals arrangements between Int’l Oil Organizations and SOMO offer the most ideal choice for settling what is going on – those arrangements ought to give the IOCs guarantee for installment through forthright installment, escrow courses of action, or installments in-kind at Ceyhan.”

The assertion follows a long-running debate between the gatherings concerning the option to trade raw petroleum from the Kurdistan District freely of the Service of Oil in Baghdad.

DNO, Genel Energy, Gulf Keystone Petroleum (GKP), HKN Energy, Hunt Oil, Kalegran, ShaMaran Petroleum, and WesternZagros are all APIKUR members.
