The leader of the State of Law coalition, former Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, informed US Ambassador to Iraq Elena Romanski on Tuesday that Iraq is prepared to hold local elections.
The media office of Al-Maliki released a statement stating that he received Ambassador Romanski in his office today. Ambassador Romanski congratulated Al-Maliki during the meeting on the National Day of the Republic of Iraq. He also wished for further progress and prosperity for the Iraqi people.
