Individual from the Parliamentary Council on Family, Ladies and Adolescence, Ibtisam Al-Hilali, affirmed today, Thursday, that changing the Individual Status Regulation requires the remarks of strict and legitimate establishments.
Al-Hilali stated, “The parliament seeks to build, not destroy, the Iraqi family with the amendment of the Personal Status Law.”
She went on to say, “The Personal Status Law Amendment is a very delicate law and requires clear amendments that are consistent with our moral values and Islamic law.”
She said, “The amendment of the law is very influential and is currently undergoing constitutional and legal procedures related to its legislation, highlighting that the law needs extensive discussion by the House of Representatives and a statement of its benefit to the Iraqi family.”
